Simon Chiang will present on Tap—[not] a talk about replacing rake. He writes that Rake is an excellent build tool that we’ve tried to make into a more general command line panacea. Tap is a task framework in the spirit of rake, but offering:

  • task inheritance, configurations, inputs, documentation, testing
  • distribution of tasks as gems
  • more

In this talk Simon will discuss tap, how it replaces rake, and how it does not. To view slides from Simon’s talk go here.

We will begin our meeting in the usual socializing and end it with a visit to a local pub on Pearl Street. Sandwiched in between all this will be some refreshments. Hope to see you there.
